I FIND IT HUMOROUS THAT YOU SAY THE LIBERAL PRESS WON'T PRINT ANYTHING ABOUT THE USS OLYMPIA. I THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR ALL AMERICA AND THE NEWS NEEDS TO GET OUT. I FEEL VERY DEEPLY ABOUT SAVING AMERICA'S GLORY AND PAST GREATNESS FOR THE FUTURE. YOU BLAME CONSERVATIVES. WHAT THEY WANT IS TO NOT SADDLE OUR FUTURE YOUTH WITH MASSIVE DEBTS THAT THEY CANNOT PAY OFF. I BELIEVE SAVING THE USS. OLYMPIA SHOULD CUT ACROSS ALL PARTY LINES. IT SHOULD BE FUNDED WITH PRIVATE DONATIONS RATHER THAN THE GOVERNMENT. I WILL BE HONEST. I HEARD ONE REPORT ONLY (ON FOX NEWS ABOUT THE OLYMPIA AND THOUGHT WHEN I HEARD IT THAT IT WAS A CRYING SHAME THAT THIS SHIP WAS TO BE SUNK. THERE WAS NO FURTHER NEWS ABOUT IT, AND I DON'T REMEMBER IF IT ALREADY HAS BEEN SUNK, OR IF IT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. I TRIED TO FIND SOMETHING ON LINE, BUT DID NOT FIND ANY UP-TO-DATE NEWS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I AGREE THIS IS A TRAVESTY AND SO TYPICAL OF WHAT IS GOING ON IN MODERN AMERICA.

I find it odd that so called conservatives who want to keep old values tend to pick and chose what profits them. I am so mad I could spit at conservatives who cannot see the importance of saving the USS Olympia for future generations. We have to give something to our future generations other than just debt. While I think that most American conservatives would spend a few bucks each out of their own pocket to save the ship, the conservative politicos have a stranglehold on what most conservatives hear and you can bet the liberal press won't talk about it. There are millionaries that could get together and for very little save the Olympia but they won't...pretty disgusted all around. Conservative values? I don't think so.

Dear Cecil;

So true about economy and freedom. I am worried sick, that the more Obama can gain control of our economy, the more freedoms we Americans will lose. I feel the answer for Republicans right now is to return to our conservative base and take a strong, vocal stand against the far left agenda being forced on us by the Obama Whitehouse. I'd love to read more on your ideas and input. Sincerely, Carol Fosdick

Excellent article! Aptly describes the fundamental differences between Republicans like Arlen Specter; Olympia Snowe; Colin Powell and Michael Steele from Conservatives like myself, Gov. Palin; Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. We understand that the more freedom and liberty the individual has, the stronger the economy is.
